Who Am I?

At this point in my life, I feel that I have once again hit a crossroad. I have a college degree in a field that I don't enjoy, and dreams of moving away to a third world country to live a life that is completely at odds with the American dream (and at odds with my negative bank account). I miss home sometimes, but long to be away. I love my boyfriend, but CRAVE independence. I am excited and scared. Bored and content. Wavering, but determined.

These conflicting emotions keep leading me back to the same big life questions. WHO AM I? who do I want to be? WHERE AM I GOING IN LIFE? How do I get there?

So, today I decided I would take some personality tests online to see what they could possibly tell me about who I am. These are some of my FREAKISHLY accurate results!

The Color Quiz

In this quiz, you are given eight boxes each containing a color and just told to click on the colors. You then wait until a timer runs out and are given specific instructions about how to pick the colors . That's it! I found these results to fit my tendencies VERY well! Here are some of the results the color quiz gave!

"Fights resistance or limitations, and insists she is free to develop in her own way. Rewarded by accomplishing things on her own, with little to no help from others."

"Feels she is carrying more than her share of problems. she is flexible and laid back, sticking to her goals and working to overcome any difficulty."

"Vulnerable and impressionable and prone to learning new things. Needs to know people are sincere as she is far too trusting and fears being used and hurt. Needs to know where she stands in relationships."

"Works well with others, as long as she doesn't have to take the lead. Longs for relationships which are understanding and relatively conflict-free."

Next, I went to personalityquiz.net and took a few fun tests! The first was the Dessert Test, which can apparently tell you characteristics of your personality by which dessert you prefer. I am a little skeptical about this one, but the results actually fit me pretty well!

Results of my dessert pick:
You are adventurous, love new ideas, are a champion of underdogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up, you whip out your saber. (WHAT?! haha!) You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor and direction. You tend to be very loyal.

Next, I chose to take a Career Test which led me to "myverse.com"

Here, to my suprise, the color method was used again! After a series of choosing my favorite and least favorite colors on color swatches, these were my career results:

You're a CREATOR
KEYWORDS: Nonconforming, Impulsive, Expressive, Romantic, Intuitive, Sensitive, and Emotional

These original types place a high value on aesthetic qualities and have a great need for self-expression. They enjoy working independently, being creative, using their imagination, and constantly learning something new. Fields of interest are art, drama, music, and writing or places where they can express, assemble, or implement creative ideas.

CREATOR OCCUPATIONS: Suggested careers are Advertising Executive, Architect, Web Designer, Creative Director, Public Relations, Fine or Commercial Artist, Interior Decorator, Lawyer, Librarian, Musician, Reporter, Art Teacher, Broadcaster, Technical Writer, English Teacher, Architect, Photographer, Medical Illustrator, Corporate Trainer, Author, Editor, Landscape Architect, Exhibit Builder, and Package Designer.

These results were a little disheartening to me because they are the same results I always get, and one of the reasons I chose PR as my major. And I really really REALLY don't like PR. haha!

Overall, I found these tests fun and helpful for identifying characteristics about myself. They gained legitimacy in my eyes when all of the results seemed to match up! This is definitely not the end of my journey of self-exploration, but it was a fun step to take! :)
